A woman who’s expecting writes this question. Does what I eat affect my baby?

Dr. Long: Definitely because everything that we eat, any medication, any drugs, does pass through the blood, through the placenta to the baby. That’s why it’s so important, early prevention and the first two parts of the program is really for mommy because baby is so young we do very little but for mommy in terms of getting that knowledge is important such as there are drugs to avoid, such as alcohol or smoking it can really harm your baby. Some antibiotics such as Tetracycline can cause permanent staining of the teeth, the adult teeth of the baby. The teeth start developing at six weeks.
